When on a diet, which is better?

Is it better to plan your meals, or just make good, healthy choices? Please explain why, too.
Also, could you list your favorite diet snacks? Thanks!

Answer on When on a diet, which is better?

It's best to plan so you stick to your diet. When you don't plan then your life gets hectic and you end up resorting on junk foods since they are easy to grab and go. I love carrots and celery with hummus.

Here are some recipes that are also delicious
Cucumber Salad:
1/2 Large Cumcumber
3 T. White Vinegar
1 t. Salt
1 t. Pepper
1 t. Splenda
1/3 cup Red Onions
1. Slice cucumber and red onions into fine slices.
2. Mix cucumber and red onion slices in small dish and add remaining ingredients, then stir.
3. Allow to chill in fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.

Cinnamon Apple:
1 Whole Apple
2 t. Cinnamon
2 t. Splenda
1. Core and cut your apple up into small cubes and place in a microwave safe dish.
2. Sprinkle cinnamon and splenda on apple.
3. Place in microwave for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

Everyone is telling me different ways to diet, So how have you guys lost weight?

Im hearing 'eat lots of protein' from my husband and then his parents are telling me only fruits and vegetables (yeah right) and no protein.. So Ive basicly just been eating regular things.. Sam witches, salad, red curry soup (which is the most fattening thing I eat) and a lot of thai and indian dishes (home made). And Ive also been running anywhere from 1 to 3 miles a day on the treadmill. I dont know if Im expecting weight loss to soon but its kind of discouraging not to see any results when Im working my *** off..

Also I had a baby 7 months ago.. But my metabolism would have slowed down right after I had him and not 7 months later right?

Anyways, any tips on how you guys have lost weight?

It sounds like a decent progeram, but you should add weight/strength training to the mix, and start running at least three miles *every* day. More muscle increases metabolism. With regard to diet, you need protein *and* fruits and veggies, along with whole grains as part of a roughly 2000 calorie per day diet.

Overweight Dog Help!!?

I have a female dog named Bella, she is a Cocker Spaniel- Bichon Frise mix. Bella is pretty overweight, she has a sister same age and breed (litter) but is in better shape her sister weighs 29 lb. And Bella weighs about 34 lb. We feed both of them 1/2 cup diet food 2 times a day. Bella is the dominant dog and will attack her sister, so we feed them separately. Bella is 1 1/2 years old. Bella and her sister eat all the same stuff, but she weighs more, Bella will get into the cat food at least 2 times a week, and we know it's bad for her, but my family always end up leaving the door open on accident. She will also get into trash and eat toilet paper, and plastic, socks and underwear, whenever he gets her paws on something she eats it, and she has anger issues and snaps at you when you try to take it away. I have no idea what to do!! She is a very fast runner, but I am busy with school and sports. Please help (:

Answer on Overweight Dog Help!!?

Put the cat food on top of the refrigerator or some other high place the dog can't possibly get to.
Google NILF training to correct the resource guarding behavior. If you don't, she's going to bite someone eventually and there could be a lawsuit. If you can't keep clothing and trash out of her reach you aren't trying very hard.

What's wrong with shrimp? Is it unhealthy?

breakfast omelet:
3/4 cup of eggwhites
1/2 onion
1/2cup spinach
like 4 oz of turkey breast
1 slice nonfat cheese(35calories)

for lunch, ill have oatmeal (150calories), and greek yogurt(80calories)

for dinner, we're going out to eat, so I'll have the grilled shrimp/chicken salad with no dressing, and a variety of fruit.

does this sound okay for today? advice?

and I was told to stay away from shrimp!?!? I thought it was healthy! Whats wrong with shrimp? does it slow weight loss?

Answer on What's wrong with shrimp? Is it unhealthy?

All things in moderation.
Have some shrimp. Just not everyday.
A great protein source like eggs.
But like eggs, too much can elevate cholesterol levels.
Make sure they are CLEAN. That is the challenge to eating shrimp.
Most of the shrimp served in the US now comes from Asia and there standards aren't the same as ours.
I'm sure you should have no problem at a quality establishment.
